Veterinary Assistants
Alyssa
Alyssa is a Newaygo County native and has been with us for nearly two years. She has a Bachelor's in Animal Science from MSU. She loves working in veterinary medicine because she enjoys participating in the treatment process and helping pets recover. She swears by the Feliway line of products the Critter Corner carries for anxious kitties, and she uses them on her own three feline friends, Lilly, Izzy, and Khaleesi, when necessary. |
Autumn
Autumn was raised in Newaygo County and joined us three years ago as a veterinary assistant. Her favorite memory from working with us was when she assisted on a case for three days, working successfully to save a one-month-old puppy. She loves being able to help clients understand their pet's care and seeing their appreciation. After work, Autumn returns home to her two sons, two dogs (Concho and Blue), and her horse, Cinnamon. She loves treating her pups with different Kong toy products from the Critter Corner. |
Taylor Taylor is from Hopkins, MI, and received a Bachelor's in Veterinary Science from Baker College in Cadillac. She has worked in the veterinary medicine industry for six years and spent three years with us. She believes the most rewarding aspect of the job is working with amazing clients and watching their pets grow up. She loves the dog puzzles we sell in the Critter Corner, which help keep her German Shepherd, Piper, entertained for hours. In addition to Piper, Taylor returns home to her husband, her three fish (Ed, Edd, and Eddie), and her two snails, Bruce and Sheldon. Taylor is an avid fan of German Shepherds, fish, and snails. |
receptionists
Billie
Originally from McBain, Michigan, Billie is one of our receptionists. She just recently started working with us again. However, Billie previously worked with us for a handful of years. She believes the most rewarding part of working in veterinary medicine (besides the puppies, of course!) is learning from the different cases we see. Her family has one dog, a heeler named Gus, who loves chasing everything, four horses, and forty Angus cows. Gus loves food, so Billie's favorite items we sell in the Critter Corner store are the dog puzzles. They help him work out some energy, and he gets the reward of a yummy snack! |
Michelle Michelle is a receptionist at the Animal Wellness Center. She has been with us for two years and is usually the first smiling face you'll see when you visit us. To her, the most rewarding aspect of working with us in the veterinary medicine field is having the ability to help clients and pets. After work, Michelle goes home to enjoy time with her husband and her two dogs, Georgi and Luci. |
Penny Penny is a vet assistant at the Animal Wellness Center and our jack-of-all-trades. If she's not in the back running the show, you'll see her up front rocking it as a receptionist. Penny has been with our practice for eight years and is our go-to girl regarding canine behavioral concerns. She believes the most rewarding part of working with us in the veterinary medicine field is educating clients and helping them learn how to provide their pawsome pals with the very best care. At the end of the day, she returns home to her cat and two dogs. |
Taylor C.
A Newaygo County native, Taylor has been involved with the clinic since elementary school when her father (Dr. Sam) first opened the practice. She began helping out at the clinic in high school and started working full-time with us again almost two years ago. Taylor loves ginger cats and has two boys of her own, named Chaos and Mayhem. She loves that we carry so many interactive cat toys in the Critter Corner store and is an avid fan of the feline Calming Care, which she has been giving to Chaos to help him become more friendly (and less chaotic!). Her favorite part of working in veterinary medicine has to be interacting with clients and the friends she's made along the way. |
